Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF)
Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF) is an emerging OPEN multi-stakeholder inclusive effort to illuminate issues and cultivate constructive discussion about the internet in conjunction with the UN Internet Governance Forum (UN IGF).
In provides a domestic independent forum in the Bangladesh to engage civil society organization, government, corporate sector, technical, media and academia, helping to create partnerships, coalitions and dialogues that demonstrate best practices and help move policy forward.
BIGF members attended 4th IGF in Sharm EL Sheikh, Egypt in 2009, 5th IGF in Vilnius, Lithuania in 2010 and the First Asia -Pacific Regional IGF (APrIGF) in Hong Kong on 14-17th June, 2010. The outcome of 4th IGF is Bangladesh has formally submitted the application for Bangla in Top Level Domain (CCTLD) to ICANN. Every year BIGF will arrange consultation regarding IGF in Bangladesh.
